Tuesday

Did not get much done over the weekend.

Had a Dr's appt Tuesday morning. My Dr asked about my situation with the father. She wanted an update to see if it was better. I told it was worse and explained a little..but not all. Now, she can be very judgemental. And is one of those "black and white" kind of people. You should do what she says! Well, when I told her she was the only one that felt that way about the situation and I had not made up my mind she really went off. She then tells me to purchase a certain book by Dr. Laura. I explained that I had never listened to this woman.

She instisted that I purchase the book so she wrote down the title. When I left the office I went to the book store. Could not find the book, so I asked someone. She took one look at me a stated, "Why do you want this book?" I stated that I had not ever listened to her and my Dr suggested it. She continued, "You will not like this book...she is ulta conservative and one sided....does not have an open mind." I just looked at her with pretty much a blank look I think. She found that the book is being released this month so it is not out yet. She finished with "Promise me that you will come in get comfortable and read as much as the book as you need, but do not pay for it..I would hate to see you waste your money."

How interesting. I asked someone about Dr. Laura at the office she said the same thing. That I would not agree with the book.

My question is...If my Dr is so concerned with me taking it easy and not stressing out..why would she tell me to get this book? I know she is trying to help, but I did start to stress out again about the situation.

When the book comes in I will go review it, but will also pick up a book with the opposite opinion.
