The Grind

Where did my weekend go? Man that was fast, luckily I’ve only got a 3 day week to worry about :). All my work projects seem to be doing ok and I’ve got a plan together of what I need to accomplish this week.

I’ve been giving training 3 days a week to on of the project management groups on how to use our estimating software. They should be able to get about a 50% productivity increase when they are done. Of course thats if they actually use the software. “I don’t have time to learn something new, I’m way to busy”. Thats the general attitude, but you know how that goes.

“I don’t have time to learn something new, I’m way to busy” ……. So, they stagnate and the companies biz sinks. Seems like we talked about that a few hundred times, eh?

    Story of our lives fellas…

  4. Man that sounds so familiar… Same thing here with the merger. Everyone’s bitching because they HAVE to use Lotus Notes. Naturally, just because it doesn’t do think EXACTLY like Outlook, it’s immediately a POS.

I’ve done everything possible to provide them with the “if you did x in Outlook, this is how you do it in Notes” but of course, it receives the exact response you stated… “I don’t have time to learn something new.”

I totally relate. It seems the projects just keep piling up! Here is a site with books on planning and organizing projects in a business setting.
