I got it last night from mirrors.kernel.org and averaged around 300kb/s, so that was pretty decent!

It's been quite a few releases since I've tried Mandrake. For some reason, I'm never too fond of their releases. But people seem to say this is a good release.

Wow that is a good speed.

As far as Mandrake goes. I run it as a desktop at home and on a test box at work. I really like it and haven't had any problems with it.

I'm still using Red Hat for my servers. Seems like a good mix to me.

I'm installing right now on a SMP machine here at work. I'm going for an 'Everything' install, so it looks like it's going to take awhile.

Like you, I always seems to go with Redhat for servers, and I have yet to really use Linux as a desktop.
